Plaster Tables

Wow! We are over half way through the first Trimester at Chelsea! A lot has happened since the last time I posted. We had our first Art Club meeting which was much more successful than I would have thought. We will be meeting again this Tuesday- so come on by!

We have had some very successful stuff coming out of the Ceramics class! Here are two wonderful examples:

Abraham has a knack for glazing.

Surprise! It's a lantern cat!

Chris helped Mrs. Naar and I with getting the plaster mixed for our new plaster tables! We had some special help with building the table then some of our kids helped with pouring. It takes three weeks to dry but it will be the an amazing addition to our Ceramics Program! Plaster tables (for those who don't know clay) help dry our wet clay so that we can continue to recycle clay and save money!

Thanks Chris!

Oh, and CONGRATULATIONS Bulldogs! Looks like our poster came in handy.

Studio Art

Here are some pictures from our Studio Art class where students work on projects in multiple mediums and many different results! Check it out:

Sam is practicing drawing fabric for his portfolio.

This giant key is going to be amazing when Dustin finishes applying the paper mache!

Chis is making a wax ring that will eventually be cast with sterling silver.

Look closely! This fish is created entirely from DOTS!

Inspired by pop art, Rebecca used her trumpet as inspiration.

We have an ART CLUB!!!

Starting next week, we are going to start having ART CLUB at the High School! The club will be after school from 3 to about 5pm on Tuesday afternoons! Everyone is welcome- it doesn't matter if a student has taken art or is currently in an art class. The club will not have any fees but we do want to plan trips to the DIA and other art galleries in the future. The club is meant to be a time for students to come and work on art, where Mrs. Naar and myself will be working along side while helping encourage creativity!

Come join us next week!!!
